Her high school career is littered with achievements - from homecoming queen, to class president - but Erykah's proudest moment came when she "made it to state for a speech event [her] first year of speaking" her senior year.

The future is bright for this young lady. With her amazing work ethic, ambition and gregarious disposition, Erykah is on the fast track to success.

The Future of Television: Matthew Harrington

Matthew Harrington is a 20 year old college student at Texas State University.  He is currently a junior and is pursuing a degree in Electronic Media and Mass Communication. He plans to use his degree to become a television show writer.
Matthew moved to a few different locations across the United States throughout his childhood due to his father’s career in the Air Force. However, he spent the last seven years in a suburb of San Antonio, and considers himself a resident of the great state of Texas. After graduating from high school in 2014, Matthew moved to San Marcos to continue his education at Texas State.
Matthew currently spends a majority of his time producing his popular radio show “Other Side Drive”. The show can be heard on the University's radio station KTSW. Although he is a paid producer for the radio station, he considers producing a hobby. “It doesn't feel like a job when you're doing something you love,” he said when asked if he enjoys working there. In the little free time he has, Matt can be found at the library studying or with his friends and roommates just hanging out.

By Vianney Strick

Shelby Jimenez is a 20-year-old young woman from Jourdanton, Texas who is attending Texas State University. She was first introduced to the university by her father who is an alumni. She is majoring in digital media innovation and minoring in political science. Her theater classes and experience as the morning announcer in high school became the roots of her passion to inform the masses.
“My biggest passion is technology and the way it connects people. If I could devote my life to keeping up with the new media, and use that to spread important information, I would really feel satisfied,” Shelby says. She wishes to use her degree to be involved in political journalism focusing on improving the problems of people living near the Mexican and Texan border face every day. She would also love to focus on women’s issues and issues of people of color. “Everyone has a purpose in life and I can’t help but think that mine is to shine light on the tragedy of those South Texas towns. I have a family that came over the border to make a better life for me, and I have that. So I want to be a voice for those people down South that no one is really listening to,” she shares. Shelby is very excited for what the future has in store for her and she can’t wait to see how many people she will be able to help with her knowledge gained from Texas State University.

Heather Wolfe is a 23-year-old senior here at Texas State; she is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. Her and her family currently live in New Braunfels and her younger brother just so happens to be a Texas State Bobcat as well. She blames her hometown for her love of outdoorsy activities such as swimming and kayaking. This past summer she and her friend did a spur of the moment trip to study abroad; they were able to visit London, France, Dublin and Italy. However, she said that Thailand is still on her bucket list.

Heather enjoys all genres of music, but her favorite artists are Fleetwood Mac and Hozier. She is working as a nanny and said she absolutely loves it! One of her most embarrassing moments happens to be at a San Francisco Giants game where she was hit in the face with a baseball when she was ten years old. “After it happened, I was allowed to keep the ball and walk down on the field,” Wolfe said. “It was worth it.”

Wolfe plans on working for her favorite sports team’s public relations department after she graduates this May. “I have always been a huge fan of the San Antonio Spurs and working for them would be a dream come true.”
