Texas State Student Vianney Strick Destined for Your TV Screen

By: Shelby Jimenez

Conversational and passionate about broadcast entertainment, Vianney Strick is a Houston, Texas local, a part time worker, and a full time student at Texas State University. In her 4th year of Texas State University and at 22 years old, Vianney is studying electronic media in hopes of going into broadcasting entertainment, and after an internship with Channel 55 Houston she has experience with filming segments and cohosting talk shows.
Born in Mexico City, Mexico, Vianney has roots in the Spanish language and is no stranger to bilingual broadcasting. Moving to Texas at the age of 9, Vianney had a language barrier to overcome, but the language she spoke was hardly a barrier, as she is today devoting her life to communicating with others.
Inspired by the likes of Giuliana Rancic, she soon decided that broadcast entertainment was for her. Vianney wishes to be a news presence that allows for people to speak their mind by creating a welcoming and encouraging environment. On this topic she says, “I would love to not only spread entertainment and positivity through the medias, but I would also love to have a platform to spread awareness of social issues through a medium where people feel free and safe to speak and encourage each other to make changes.”
Vianney wants to make her family proud, but also to make the masses proud by being, “a good role model for anyone no matter were they come from or where they’re going.”

Shelby Jimenez is a digital media innovations major at Texas State with a minor in political science.
